All New GMC Yukon…

The fifth generation GMC Yukon arrives this summer and we couldn’t be more excited. This category of vehicles has been dominated by GM and it’s clear that GMC are looking to capture even more of this market by adding to this industry leading line up with more options to offer a Yukon for all tastes and needs.

GMC have done a complete redesign, increasing the size of both the Yukon and the Yukon XL to offer even more internal cargo space. This was instantly noticeable as you sat in the vehicle and opened the rear hatch. The Yukon is 6.1 inches longer bumper to bumper of which 4.9 inches is in the wheelbase. The Yukon XL is 0.9 inches lnger but gains 4.1 inches in the wheelbase.

Both models will be available in SLE, SLT, Denali and the all new AT4 trim which was the true showstopper for me at the Calgary Auto Show. This first for the Yukon has a striking new look but that is just the start of how awesome this off-road option really is. As well as the looks, this trim offers unique interior design, two speed transfer case, all terrain tires, underbody skid plates, 2 inch lift and an adjustable air-ride suspension system that allows 4 inches of ride height adjustment. Inside you get first and second row bucket seats, heated features and an extruding infotainment screen.

Under the hood there are three options to choose from. The gas offerings include our 5.3L V8 and 6.2L V8 which is capable of producing 420hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This generation is offered with a 3.0L inline-six turbo diesel for excellent fuel efficiency. All engine options are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

We were lucky enough to get hands on with some of the new Yukon line-up and I can say for sure that they are even better in person. Summer 2020 will be an exciting time to get your hands on one of these seriously impressive vehicles and experience it for yourself.
